When one is advanced in years, it is time to
take things easy and enjoy life in comfort and
security. This is the time to live in warm and
peaceful surroundings, to choose how to
spend ones time and to leave the worries of
everyday life to others. This is the aim of
Scimitar, it's management and staff. Residents
can maintain their privacy and independence
and yet enjoy the friendship and company of
other residents and staff, as well as become
involved to the extent they desire in the
activities of the Residential Care Hotel.

Involving Family & Friends

Family and friends are welcomed and
encouraged to come and go as they please.
We do not believe in visiting hours, our doors
are always open.

Activities

A comprehensive programme of
entertainment, designed to stimulate but not
intrude, is arranged on a regular basis. These
include fashion shows, music and movement,
community singing, dancing, art, cards and
other games all of which are completely
discretional. A non-denominational service of
worship is held monthly. A library, including
large print books is available for residents to
enjoy. The choice of activity is limited only by
imagination.

Staffing

All Scimitar staff undergo rigorous checking for suitability
and must be devoted to caring for senior citizens. Scimitar
has developed an intensive training and monitoring
program that ensures that residents receive the very best
quality care. Staff are on hand 24 hours a day, every day
of the year.

Cuisine

All meals are freshly prepared on the premises to a high
standard. A choice of meals is available to all residents
and special dietary needs are fully catered for. Visitors are
welcome to dine with residents though some notice may
be required.

Care

Senior citizens and their families may rest
assured that Scimitar has the experience and
expertise to care for all its residents on a
very individual basis - from those just
needing a helping hand to those requiring
help and assistance with mobility and other
problems, right through to seniors needing a
totally planned 24 hour care regime. All
residents, whatever their level of need, have
an individual Care Plan which is monitored
and updated daily.
